It's good food. But a bad experience with my order.
I went for lunch and I was satisfied, return for dinner and I asked for 2 soft tacos on corn ( picadillo, shredded chicken) with lettuce n tomato in them, and 1 carne guisada on flower tortilla.
Well I know their corn are home made and flower are packaged.
When my food was served all tortillas were store bought. No home made corn. I asked the waiter what happened to the homemade corn tortillas. Why are these tacos on store package bought. He said we ran out of the home made corn tortillas. But yet they are bringing the table behind me home made tortillas to eat with their meal and they came in after me.
I told the waiter that he should of came and told me they were out of home made tortillas so I can order something else. He said I can get them to make you something else. Yeah right, I'm thinking as you didn't care to what you served me you wanted me to eat this just because you and the cook probably said give it to him and have him eat this. If I send that plate back and order something else, what will that cook or that waiter do to my meal. I just decided to just walk out and got charged for the soda.
So I said food is good but they will give you what they feel like giving you. They know most people will just eat what's served and not say anything. -

So we've only been in Portland for about a week and have already been here five times, I think. Maybe four. But they are so good! This is a small place, but it is clean and comfortable. The employees we've interacted with have all been very friendly, and generally prompt. As I'm most accustomed to Tex-Mex, I kind of tread lightly with more authentic Mexican food. The first time I ordered off the à la carte menu: one cheese enchilada, a chicken soft taco, and a side of rice. The enchilada was good, nothing amazing. The pulled chicken soft taco was AMAZING. For $2.49 you get a housemade tortilla STUFFED with delicious pulled chicken. So, so good. The rice was also very good, and was a pretty large portion for a side. The second time I went the same route and ordered off their à la carte: another chicken soft taco, a pulled pork soft taco, and a side of beans. Again the chicken taco and rice were delicious. The pork taco was very good too, but it was pretty greasy. Toward the end it started to kind of make me queasy. So I think it's only been four times we've been, because the last two times I've gone simple and gotten bean and cheese nachos with a side of picked jalapeños. Simple but good. Their chips and salsa have been very good, and they have a green salsa and a more creamy salsa. Both of those are too hot for me, but I'm a wimp. My husband has gotten caldo de res two times and was super pleased with it. Giant bowls of fresh soup full of large portions of beef and vegetables. I tried it the first time and it tasted like my mom's stew. Cozy and delicious.
This is not a big chain restaurant. I get the sense that there are plenty of regulars. In fact the third time we went in the waiter asked where my husband was =) Prices are cheap. We've eaten for under $20 every time we've been there and, considering how much fresh food we're getting, it's an awesome deal. -

When you live in south Texas there are a bunch of Mexican food places and most are good. This is one of the elite restaurants in terms of taste and authentic fresh food. Don't let the location or parking lot fool you. This is a awesome place and totally should be on your list. Skip the chains and big marketing places.

I was very hungry. Looking for a quick place to eat some Mexican food maybe with a drive thru, well I found taqueria place (no drive Thru '). I walked in asked if they had a to-go menu and he said yes , I asked what time do you guys close ? He said in about 45
Mins I said ok I'll get something I can just eat in the car. He said no you can eat here and offered me a seat , which was awesome most people ready to close would want to get you out ASAP. The food came out quick for some nachos and I ate and left, service was very good and the asada nachos were very delicious . Glad I stumbled onto this place .
